Windows 7 still used by millions of users

Windows 7 the most used and rated Operating system produced by Microsoft as part of Thier Windows NT family operating systems. It was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009, and became available on October 22, 2009.windows 7 is successor of Windows vista that was released 3 years earlier.

And As for now the 2021, millions of users still haven’t updated Thier Windows 7 to the latest version could pose a major security risk for them.

The reports if believed; millions of the Microsoft Windows 7 users have still not upgraded their machines to the latest versions even After Microsoft had stopped security support for it a year ago.

On January 14th ,2020 Microsoft stopped supporting and delivering security updates installation to windows 7. Soon after Microsoft many third party followed the move of Microsoft and stopped to deliver security updates to Microsoft Windows 7.

As we all know we approach the 1st anniversary of the end-of-support for Windows 7. There are still millions of users who wish not to update their windows to latest version.prolific Windows author Ed Bott has gathered some data and approximate that there are still 100 of million PCs running the windows 7 OS and the actual number could be higher than it. Although the number greatly reduced in the past 12 months but still millions of those users are interested in old OS.

Calculations for Windows 7 users.

After end-of-support announcement by Microsoft for Windows 7 last year bott consulted with some analytics expert and came to concussion that even after end-of-support for Windows 7 there will still be 200 millions users that will continue to use Windows 7.

Comparing between December 2019 and December 2020 figures bott noted that the number of Windows 7 PC users has gone down from 18.9% to 8.5%.web usage, show a similar drop with Windows 7 usage down from 31.2% to 21.7%.

Majority of these users are at high risk to be hacked. Although some of them are enrolled with the Windows 7 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program,Many are still exposed to hackers and many types of dangers lurking on the internet.
